Acts435 is a revolutionary website that allows people to give money directly to others. 100% of what is donated via Acts 435 goes directly to those in need. If you GiftAid your donation, it helps towards the running costs of the charity. Your church can nominate an Advocate to handle the local claims and anyone can become a supporter, helping those in need with a donation from as small as £5.

The development of Places of Welcome began in Birmingham with a series of workshops, as part of the Social Inclusion Process, during which a set of guiding principles was developed to which all Places of Welcome agree to.

These have come to be known as the 5P’s.

Place:  An accessible and hospitable building, open at the same time every week.

People:  Open to everyone regardless of their circumstances or situation, and staffed by volunteers.

Presence:  A place where people actively listen to one another.

Provision: Offering free refreshments (at least a cup of tea and a biscuit) and basic local information.

Participation: Recognises that every person coming to a Place of Welcome will bring talents, experiences and skills that they might be willing to share locally.

Many churches and organisations are working hard to help people in the area who are facing the challenges that come with poverty. These organisations rely on volunteers to be able to give the help that is much needed. We know that when people get involved in helping others they can make a real difference to those in need and to their own lives as well.
